Pragatishil Palghar

Pragatishil Palghar is our collaborative multi-stakeholder effort for the upliftment of the socio-economic position of Palghar district. Situated just 2 hours away from Mumbai, the de facto financial capital of India, is the tribal district of Palghar where communities are majorly involved in agriculture and farming. Through self-empowerment, skill development and sustainable progress, we support the rural communities and give them access to our comprehensive range of banking services.

  • During the Financial Year 2024-25, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee carefully evaluated various proposals. Following a thorough review, funds were allocated to local partners and NGOs, with particular emphasis on regions where the Bank has branches. This approach was designed to ensure effective oversight and successful implementation of all projects.

https://eachoneeducateone.org/		 Each One Educate One is the education focused arm of Shri Sathya Sai Gram. SBM Bank India extended sponsorship towards Each One Educate One Foundation’s edu-care program wherein children from underprivileged backgrounds, in Grades 6-12, are provided with residential education programs covering food, clothing, housing, and all necessary daily needs in addition to educational costs.
Association for Nutrition and Development Action (ANNADA)
https://annada.org		 Sponsorship towards ANNADA’s food packet distribution programs for children under 6 years, mothers, adolescent girls, school children (midday meals) and extremely economically weak segments.
Global Vikas Trust (GVT)
https://www.globalvikastrust.org		 Support extended towards Global Vikas Trust’s initiative for farmers from underprivileged segments in Palghar, Maharashtra. Subsidized saplings of mogra, banana and mango were provided to small and marginal farmers depending on soil viability and cultivation capacity.
Dignity Foundation
https://dignityfoundation.com		 Sponsorship towards Care and Support for senior citizens. Covered operating costs of Geriatric Day Care Centre in Jogeshwari and Dementia Day Care Centre in Mahim for March 2025, including rent, meals, salaries, pick-up/drop, medication, physiotherapy, yoga, diet plans, and counselling.

  • In the Financial Year 2023-24, the CSR Committee conducted a comprehensive review of multiple proposals. Funds were allocated to local partners and NGOs, focusing on locations where the Bank has branches to ensure effective governance and execution.
  • By directing resources toward local initiatives, the Bank contributed to social welfare, community development, and sustainable practices.

Centurion University Sponsorship towards Krushak Kalyan Yojana for enhancing farmer skills in Odisha.

  • Pragatishil Palghar: Multi-year initiative to foster economic and social development of Palghar district. Includes skill centers, laptop donations, and women's self-help groups.
  • Eye Camps: Sponsored 100 cataract surgeries and free eye screening camps with HelpAge India.

  • Partnered with Help Age India to provide free cataract surgeries to 200 aged persons in Maharashtra.
  • #SBMButterflyEffect initiatives conducted to bring social change.
  • Promoted World Walking Day 2021 and supported employee wellness initiatives.
  • Funded dental and radiography equipment for underprivileged children.
  • Conducted ‘Lighting up a Life’ donation drive.
  • Women On The Move Council: Breast cancer awareness webinars and sponsored check-ups.
  • Movember awareness initiatives including testing for prostate/testicular cancers.

  • Contribution of INR 1 million towards PM CARES Fund.
  • Additional INR 2 million by SBM Bank employees towards PM CARES Fund.
  • Partnered with ISKCON Govardhan Village for Govardhan Annakshetra Programme (Food Relief) distributing 2000 food packets to tribals during COVID.
  • Partnered with Le Rythme Trust to provide music skill development for underprivileged children.
